We enjoyed our short break at Wainlete in September. The cottage has to be the best equipped we have ever been to - a real home from home. It was nice to sit in front of the burning log fire on a chilly evening sipping a glass of wine. We would certainly recommend the cottage to anyone wishing to take their dog away with them and hope to return, together with our two Westies, in the future.

Wainlete is a lovely roomy cottage, with a large well lit bathroom, well equipped kitchen and comfy bed. Clearwell is a good centre for visiting the Forest and surrounding attractions. We especially liked Monmouth for its interesting little museum and good shopping, and the Dean Centre, for local history and a couple of lovely Gloucester Old Spot pigs.
The Caves are very interesting and not too difficult underfoot, but take wellies to Puzzle Wood at the moment. We had good meals at The Butchers Arms and Wyndham Arms, but suggest booking at the weekends.

A very relaxing fortnight in the most well-equipped cottage we've ever stayed in. Much appreciated the food basics so we didn't have to shop from scratch & the wine went down very well too, thanks! The food at the Butcher's Arms was very good and reasonably priced and a friendly welcome is to be had at The Lamb!

From the first moment we walked through the front door into that cosy front room we knew that all would be good.
Paul and Jayne have certainly spared absolutely no effort to ensure their guests are comfortable and attention to every minutest detail is obvious.
The village is delghtful, served by three very welcoming pubs and the general location is ideal for exploring this beautiful part of the country.
Do not miss The Ostrich in Newland. only a mile or so up the road, a wonderfully atmospheric place with friendly attentive staff and great well-priced food!
Thanks to you both. We highly recommend to anyone considering a visit to the Forest of Dean

Hi Jayne - the cottage was really really nice - very comfortable- bed very large and even more comfortable - just wanted to say we will recommend to our friends should they wish to go down to that area for a break at any time. The Forest of Dean was spectacular, even Symonds Yat was excellent - especially since I suffer from vertigo - the view from the river at the bottom was also wonderful - we had a relaxing time - just the baaaaaaing of the sheep to nod us off to sleep.

We booked the holiday through the Owners Direct website. The cottage is in a peaceful little village and is extremely well kitted out and very clean. It has a lovely little garden, we sat in the evening with a glass of wine watching the sheep on the hillside. We booked Sunday lunch at the Butchers Arms just down the road and the meal was outstanding and very reasonable. The village is amongst some beautiful countryside,we thought Symonds Yat was stunning. We had a great day out in the Forest of Dean where we hired bikes from Peddleabikeaway where they also had a doggy trailer for our elderly dog. We would definitly book this cottage again the owners made us feel very welcome and we had a suberb few days away from home.

Dear Jayne,
I wanted to add some feedback. Firstly, I wanted to thank you for making the effort to get all the stuff together for our daughter (cot, highchair, etc). Whilst having her in our room made for a few early mornings, your providing all the equipment actually made the whole break possible. Although not everyone would necessarily want to have their kid with them in the bedroom (and normally Caitlin doesn’t sleep in our room of course), I’d definitely recommend people to give it a go.
This is a great extra you provided and I’m sure it will bring in additional clients for you.
I’m not sure if you did already, but you might also want to recommend clients to book in advance if they want to eat in one of the local pubs, particularly on the weekend (as they were full when we tried on the Saturday night).

We had a fantastic weekend at the cottage, the standard of accommodation is beautiful, the pictures really don't do it justice. Our dogs Jasper & Chester we most impressed with the dog facilities, but most impressed with the bonios waiting for them!
The welcome pack detailing the local area is great for walks and local attractions, it saved us a lot of time trying to find information, the local takeaway also delivers to the cottage, which is a bonus if you arrive late.
The wine on arrival was much appreciated after our journey.
This place is highly recommended - we will be back!
